Adoption Information
Adoption Services
World View is a non-profit organization that is licensed by the Ontario Government for international adoption. We have been helping families adopt internationally since 2001.World View is currently engaged in facilitating international adoptions of children from India, Pakistan, Guyana, and Bangladesh and other countries on a case-by-case basis.
We travel regularly to countries where we have existing adoption programs. As Toronto is the hub of a large population of Asian and African nationals, World View often receives inquiries about the possibility of adopting from countries in those regions. Therefore, we intend to expand our services to include countries such as Pakistan, Ethiopia, Nepal and South Africa. (As and when the programs for these countries are fully developed, we will post details on this site.)
International Adoptions: General Information
All international adoptions by Canadian families are governed by the law of the province where the adoptive family resides as well as by the adoption law of the country where the child that is being adopted resides. Canada is also a signatory to the Convention on Protection of Children and Co-operation in respect of Intercountry Adoption, which is generally known as the Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption. The Convention establishes safeguards to ensure that international adoptions take place in the best interests of the child and it establishes a system of co-operation amongst Contracting States. The requirements of the Convention will apply where both countries are signatories.Related Links
